Settibalija's are the community living mainly all over Andhra Pradesh, but they are mainly found in East Godavari, West Godavari, Khammam, Vishakapatnam and in Krishna districts.
Legend says that a Dommeti Venkata Reddi, was like a chieftain, and changed their community name to Setti Balija from Goud during 18th century. Dommeti Venkat Reddi who lived in The Bodasakurru village near Amalapuram of East Godavari Dt.

Settibalija's are traditionally involved in Toddy Tapping & Liquor sales and but some also engaged in agriculture.

They are identified by different names in Andhra, such as:
- Goud, Gowd or Gouda in Telangana region of Andhra Pradesh.
- Edigas or Idigas in Rayalaseema region and South Coastal Andhra.
- Setti Balijas in East Godavari, West Godavari,Kammam,Krishna,Visakhapatnam.
- Gowda or Gamalla in coastal Andhra pradesh ( mainly in Krishna,Guntur,Prakasam,Nellore,West Godavari,Prakasam)
- Sri Sayanas in Vishakapatanam, Vizayanagaram, and Srikakulam.
- Bhandari in Konkan region of Maharashtra and Goa.
- Goud, Goud Kalal, Kalal in Maharashtra.
