Setec

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Setec Oy is the former Bank of Finland's banknote printer. It was founded in 1885, and in 1991 it was publicized. Currently Setec is owned by the international smart card vendor Gemalto.

Setec printed the Finnish marks, and for a few years, Euros, until Setec's banknote printing was ended. Now the company is focusing on producing passports, smart cards, ID-cards and some digital security products. For instance, Setec produces Sweden's, Norway's, Denmark's and Singapore's passports and bank and sim cards to Europe and Asia.
