Sergio Pinheiro Lopes (São Paulo, 1953) is a Brazilian writer, translator and composer.

Sergio wrote four books: Cabe Outra Vida na Vida (bilingual edition Portuguese/English), Olavobrás, 2003; Fogo Paulista, Olavobrás, 2004; Peneira do Tempo, Edições Oxxy, 2007 and O Poemês, Edições Oxxy, 2007. The first introduced by Ivan Lessa and prefaced by Paulo Bomfim, the second introduced by Raul Fiker and prefaced by André Nigri and the third prefaced by Cilaine Alves Cunha, professor of Brazilian Literature at the University of São Paulo - USP. He also writes for the magazine Salada Paulista, besides working as an English translator for several companies, having translated into English a book on public education in Brazil commissioned by UNICEF, among others.

As a composer Sergio wrote around fifty songs, in partnerships with Cláudio Carina, Carlos Takaoka and Daniel Schafram. One of his first songs with Cláudio and Takaoka, "Documentário", competed in the Brazilian Music Festival of TV Cultura in 1981, finishing in fourth. It was sang by Rosa Maria who, afterwards, recorded it in more than one CD.

He is the second son of the jurisprudent Mauro Brandão Lopes, author of several books in his field of expertise, and of Maria Júlia Pinheiro Lopes. Sergio belongs to a dinasty of writers initiated by his great-grandfather, the writer and grammarian Julio Ribeiro, creator of the flag of the State of São Paulo. He is a nephew of the writers Elsie Lessa, Orígenes Lessa, and Ivan Pedro de Martins, and first cousin of the writer and journalist Ivan Lessa.
