[edit] Serbian parliamentary elections 2007

From looking at the preliminary results of the elections which will not change much until the real results are published by the Electorate Commision I believe firstly the elections have gone well.

Radicals are still the biggest party but the Democratic Party is the winner in my eyes because they have gained 28 parliamentary places and 10% more votes than 3 years ago, which is a real success for Serbia. Radicals have lost a place but still their % has gone slightly up (but not as much as the Democratic Party)

Radicals may have won as a single party but remember . . . Serbs are democracts and around 50% of people in Serbia votes for the DEMOCRATIC PARTIES in Serbia and that is good. The world needs to let Serbia on its way because the World is holding Serbia back and that is causing so many people (over 1 million) to vote for the Serbian Radical Party because they are sick of the Western Powers not allowing Serbia and the Serbs to develop.

The history should have tough us. Why did people in Germany vote for Hitler in the 1930's and Hitler was in a 'Radical' party. Germans voted for him because in Germany there was inflation, unemployment, Allies were not allowing Germany to do anything as they didn't have an (large) army, they had to pay reparations and so on. This is a very similar situation in Serbia but even more unjust because Germany was punished in some way for the WWI (and they were punished harshly) and Serbia is being punished for things it DIDN'T DO. In these wars all sides did things but in the world it is potrayed that Serbs are genocidic and murderers and this is simply not the case. (Read book Yugoslavia: The Avoidable War and the film). All sides did war crimes in the war but Serbs are being punished for it . . . not just for what wrong they did but also are being punished for things that the media and World Powers claim Serbia did. The truth needs to come out and Serbia needs to be allowed to develop and then and only then will the conditions like unemployment and financial problems improve. When that improves . . . people will see and the popularity of the Radicals in Serbia will slowly decrease and more Democratic Parties will be the strongest andnot have to worry about the big danger of Radicals forming the govenment.

[edit] Correction

DS won 23 seats in 2003, and together with SDP and DSHV (neither of which ran in 2003) it won 64 seats. So, it's +41.

DSS won 48 seats and NS 9 in 2003 (=57). They together and with SDPO and JS (which run for the first time), it won 47 seats. So, it's -10. --PaxEquilibrium 14:01, 10 June 2007 (UTC)
