[edit] Requested move
It has been proposed that this article be moved to Serving channel, due to the fact that the article is describing what is more commonly known as a "Serving channel" on IRC... then redirect Depot channel to Serving channel...

- Before I can make descion as an admin, please provide some evidence as to the usage of the seperate terms. -- Kim van der Linde at venus 02:13, 5 July 2006 (UTC)
- the only evidence I can provide is that I live in IRC myself, and one of my fellow servers brought this page to my attention (as I am the Wiki-geek of the group), and we all laughed that it was called a depot channel... on IRC, we refer to channels which share files (whatever files they may be) as a Serving Channel... this article is more closely describing an MP3 sharing channel (due to the commands listed), and "Depot Channel", if anything, is an out-dated term, generally designated to software (warez) piracy specifically, as far as an overall term for any type of file sharing, they are refered to as serving channels... - Adolphus79 22:56, 8 July 2006 (UTC)
- ok, done. -- Kim van der Linde at venus 05:52, 12 July 2006 (UTC)
