I'm surprised there isn't more here, given the amount of nature documentaries I've seen proclaiming the wonders of the Serengeti. Anybody got anything to add? 8^) --Spudtater 22:04, 3 August 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Updated and Expanded

I've extensively updated, expanded and corrected this article. I will also work on the Serengeti to clarify the difference between the two unless it is felt that they should still be merged. Merurider 17:05, 3 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Keep them Seperate

Serengeti National Park is the Park that contains the Serengeti, right? Each article should reference each other

[edit] African animals

We need to make an African section about animals! They are so beautiful and gorgeous!
I bet many people would love to see a section just about those lovely animals and see what

they are like! We don't usually see them around here, so we could learn more about them this way! —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 209.244.187.237 (talk) 22:01, 26 February 2007 (UTC).

[edit] German history

Quote: "The area was declared as a ‘protected area’ in 1921 by the then German colonial administration."

Germany lost all her colonies at the end of WW I, so it was not a decision made by a German administration to change the status of the Serengeti. The German wiki page states the Serengeti was partly declared a wildlife refuge ("teilweise zum Wildreservat") in 1929. This is confirmed on this page: http://library.thinkquest.org/16645/national_parks/ta_serengeti.shtml
