French Health service of the Armies (Service de santé des armées or SSA) is in charge of medical and sanitary supply of the Military of France and of all institutions placed under the authority of the French Ministry of Defense.
Practitioners are given an initial training in Bordeaux and Lyon. Then, they are sent to Val de Grâce hospital in Paris in order to receive applied training.
It is also comprised of administrative and technical officers (OCTASSA), nurses (males and females) and paramedical staff.
