Sergei Abeltsev

Sergei Nikolaevich Abeltsev (Russian: Сергей Николаевич Абельцев; born May 16, 1961) is a member of the State Duma of Russia and a former bodyguard of Vladimir Zhirinovsky. He has been a member of the State Duma's Committee on National Security since December 2003 and a member of the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia (LDPR). Prior to his election to the State Duma, Abeltsev was a member of the LDPR Supreme Council. He has degrees in management, law, and military science. [1]

He said: "Renaissance came to Europe only after Inquisition. We must learn from the lessons of the History". He publicly proposed to kill Yevgeny Adamov, former Russian atomic energy minister, to prevent him from disclosing state secrets in Switzerland. He also said about tragic death of Aleksander Litvinenko: "The deserved punishment reached the traitor. I am sure his terrible death will be a warning to all the traitors that in Russia treason is not to be forgiven. I would recommend to citizen Berezovsky to avoid any food at the commemorative feast for Litvinenko." He is also known for physically assaulting other members of Russian Duma on numerous occasions.
