  • Jimmy Wales In Bangalore, India: Jimmy Wales is one of the speakers at the InfoVision 2006 conference, organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry and the International School of Information Management in Bangalore on the 28th and 29th of September 2006 (http://www.infovision.org.in/). Initiated in 2005, InfoVision is an annual global Summit in India for all Knowledge Industry and Knowledge society stakeholders - academia, industry, government and the user groups, to meet as partners and to develop a unified framework for and formulate strategies for capitalizing knowledge for performance. Other speakers include Leif Edvinsson, Sam Pitroda, Peter Lor, Shoba Purushothaman and Rory Chase.

  • Release of Lage Raho Munna Bhai, India's most popular movie of 2006. The sequel to the hit movie Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. took the whole nation by a storm as the main protagonist of the movie Sanjay Dutt and his aide Arshad Warsi work their magic again albeit in a different manner. The Bhai log are back but this time they are here not with their dadagiri instead they are out here to spread the message of non-violence given by the father of the nation Mahatma Gandhi through their Gandhigiri.
