"September" (sometimes called "Dancing in September") is a song written by Maurice White, Al McKay and Allee Willis, and recorded as a hit single by Earth, Wind & Fire in 1978. The single reached #1 on the U.S. R&B chart, #8 on the Billboard Hot 100, and #3 in the UK. The song was one of their top three most famous in the UK, next to "Boogie Wonderland" and "Let's Groove". It is among their greatest hits and is remembered as one of their funkiest disco songs.
