SEPU

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

SEPU or Sociedad Española de Precios Únicos was Spain's oldest department store group. Headquartered in Barcelona and with stores in Zaragoza and Madrid, the company was originally founded in 1932 in Madrid by German investors. The company closed in 2002.

At the time of closure SEPU was controlled by Australian retailer Rodd Partridge who acquired the company in 2000 in an attempt to turn around the failing company. However the previous management's massive undisclosed accumulated tax debts could not be negotiated and the company was forced to close.
