[edit] References
Hi Senators, I am just here to let you know that references are not placed in articles purely for decoration. Your recent edits to the Holden Commodore article has proven to me yet again, that you take no care when referencing an article. The original references actually back-up the facts, but now it seems that you find some random website that vaguely mentions the topic, and include it in as a bandaid solution. For this I have reverted your edits (see: Wikipedia:Verifiability). OSX (talk • contributions) 06:20, 28 July 2007 (UTC)
- On a second note, I see that you have made some edits to the Ford Falcon (Australia) article which I have also reverted. I suggest that you go through carefully, and make sure the citations back-up every fact that is mentioned in each preceding paragraph. OSX (talk • contributions) 06:27, 28 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] 10-4
Sure. Also, what does 10-59 etc. mean? HarrisonB Speak! 06:49, 2 August 2007 (UTC)
- Ah ok. What do the others mean? Not to sound rude or anything. HarrisonB Speak! 06:53, 2 August 2007 (UTC)
Thanks. Ok, I am in a 10-6 situation now :), so I need to go. Thanks HarrisonB Speak! 06:58, 2 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Your userpage
Your userpage is fine. I rate it a 7/10. If I were you, I would remove the interesting pictures part. RuneWiki777 12:23, 2 August 2007 (UTC)
- Well it is small, with a lack of subpages. I will suggest looking at the userpages of the players and learn from them. My own userpage is a jumbled, unorganized mess, so yours is better than mine. Good luck and see you next season! Marlith T/C 22:59, 3 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Wheels Magazine
Wouldn't we have a problem with photo licensing? I will try and get it anyway however. Also, where did you find the pics of the new holdens? HarrisonB Speak! 09:16, 4 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] New Holden Ute/Wagon
Oh, I understand you. Anyway, can you give me the link for the new Holden Ute/Wagon? Thanks HarrisonB Speak! 01:26, 5 August 2007 (UTC)
- Sorry I thought you saw it on the net. What paper? Local or National? HarrisonB Speak! 01:55, 5 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Orion
Sounds good, but it needs a cleanup in the way that you have written it e.g "a good fifteen months" should be "fifteen months" or "more than fifteen months" etc. Also, thanks for the new pics of the Commodore. In my opinion, I think that the HSVs are overdone. Anyway, that is just my opinion. My Family owns a Subaru Liberty 3.0R Spec. B HarrisonB Speak! 02:29, 5 August 2007 (UTC)
- I just believe they need to be 'toned down' a little. They are still attractive, and anyway, that is just my opinion. HarrisonB Speak! 02:38, 5 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Holden Commodore
Hi, can I help with the Holden Commodore article? What can I do? HarrisonB Speak! 01:55, 7 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Yeah, I Get It
Ok, they are funny looking cars. You win. I just think they have character, and lets never talk about it again :) HarrisonB Speak! 07:15, 8 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Admin.
I think you'd be a great candidate for being an admin. JpGrB 01:28, 10 August 2007 (UTC)
At this point in time, I cannot support you becoming an administrator unfortunately. While you have good intentions, I think there are still a few issues that need to be worked out. Your spelling has improved but there are still a few problems with grammar that you need to be careful with. Also I'd like to see you make high-quality, significant contributions in pushing articles towards FA status etc. So far you have contributed towards making Ford BA Falcon a GA article with help from others, which is a good start but more is needed.
Some of your actions in the past have been questionable, such as nominating HSV Senator for GA and then passing it yourself. I hope you won't do such things in the future. A quick look over your edits seems to show you've made an effort to add edit summaries to each of your contributions. That's very helpful but some of your recent edit summaries are "e", "er", "d", "ff", "w" and "sd." These are somewhat cryptic and look like random keyboard bashings, which kinda defeats the purpose of edit summaries. Also, I believe you need to pay more attention to detail. I remember you created an article called "Chevrolet Z71" when Z71 already exists. Your spelling mistakes also seem to arise from carelessness rather than inability to spell. This forces you to go back and make many minor edits to fix them.
In general though, I think it would be a good idea to gain more experience in a variety of subjects on Wikipedia before applying for adminship. If you do decide to apply for adminship however, I wish you all the best. VectorD 06:39, 10 August 2007 (UTC)
-
- What VectorD is saying is all to true. There is no doubt that your editing style has not improved, but further experience is needed. You seem to have little understanding for the actual point of references, and still nominate sub-standard articles for GA status and what not. Not to mention the countless peer-review nominations to articles with obvious gaps.
-
- Like VectorD has already mentioned, there is no excuse really for poor spelling. Simply copy-pasting your edits into Microsoft Word (or the freely downloadable OpenOffice.org suite) will underline the mistakes that you've made. To be honest I am getting board of cleaning-up these errors up after you. The same can be said for you repeated use of ten-codes. Only a small minority of Wikipedians would actually understand the meanings of the codes, and will only be the cause of unnecessary issues.
- Despite these issues you make invaluable contributions and I sincerely hope that you can become an administrator in the future. OSX (talk • contributions) 07:35, 10 August 2007 (UTC)
If you think you're up for it - then great. Personally (if I were you) I'd wait a few months - you've got exams coming up soon (not to mention Year 12 next year). You don't want this to distract you (or am I not allowed to say that without getting banned?) :) Ryan R (M_3628905) 13:38, 10 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Portal: Australian Motorvehicles
What do you think of the idea? Please express your opinion here. HarrisonB Speak! 01:58, 12 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] The answer to your question
I will respond to you in point form:
- Firstly, thankyou for your opinions on the Australian Motorvehicles idea. I suggest that we now work on the Mitsubishi Magna and Toyota Aurion articles as you suggested, and maybe the Ford Laser article because while some of them were rebadged, they are still an Australian car.
- How do I act on Wikipedia? That is my question. Also, be careful in the way you speak, because people might take offence.
- I will remove the userbox, but I ask you not to give me ultinatums and put them in bold print like some eviction notice. I don't mind that I made a mistake and I am happy you pointed it out to me, but please don't be so mean in the way you say it.
Thankyou HarrisonB Speak! 09:11, 12 August 2007 (UTC)
- Senators, I would have to agree with HarrisonB here about your arrogance. Just because someone hasn't replied to your message after two days, doesn't justify edits like this: [1]. Also why would you go onto an article talk page and say "The article [Ford BA Falcon] is better than yours and can be used as an idea of what needs to be fixed in your article" ([2]). Even just recently, your message to User talk:HarrisonB/Archive2 cannot be justified. "I wish you would advocate (remove) that userbox from your page due to the fact that you have only contributed to that article 7 times, if you do not remove that userbox within a week, I will remove it". Well you have only edited the Holden VE Commodore article once, but that hasn't stopped you from displaying a userbox taking credit for work that others have done. [3]. [edit] Adoption Question
Well, personally, I would feel that you should decide if I should be able to graduate. That's just my opinion. JpGrB 18:21, 12 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Car Articles
What needs to be done? Ill give you a hand if you would like. HarrisonB Speak! 07:00, 21 August 2007 (UTC)
Sorry it took a bit to answer your questions.
To answer you adminship question: Yes, I think a person that has gone through the hoops and hurdles to become an admin like yourself deserves the adminship. You were supportive of me even if I was away for most of the time, and you were there for me when I did need you, so for that I thank you.
However I agree with your other adoptee when I say that I think it is up to you whether I should graduate from the adoption program...

[edit] Subaru Legacy/Liberty
Would you say it would be wise to work on this article as well for the future Aussie cars portal? Sorry for talking about this car alot, I just know a lot about them. HarrisonB Speak! 07:26, 26 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] RE: Adoption
Sure - I'm probably able to graduate from the adoption program. If I ever have questions I know where to ask.

[edit] Aurion
Would it help to put a photo of the Avalon on the Aurion article? HarrisonB Speak! 06:41, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
- What is wrong using a photo from the Toyota Avalon article? Just before you thing I am crazy, I mean (and have meant) that a Toyota Avalon picture should be in the Toyota Aurion article, like the Toyota Camry picture on the Toyota Aurion article. HarrisonB Speak! 05:07, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Stats on top of my page
I cant help you right now, because I am doing 3 assignments that are due this week, but I will do it for you later if that is ok (probably tonight) HarrisonB Speak! 06:58, 10 September 2007 (UTC)
