[edit] Pronunciation?

The pronunciation description for Senedd is excellent ("SEN-eth"), however it would be very helpful if other words in the article, particular those that are headings, had the same treatment. These words include: Neuadd, Siambr, Cwrt. Tinkstar1985 06:17, 24 July 2007 (UTC)

Hi. I speak welsh and I think that statement is wrong. It'd pronounced sen-edd, but Welsh is a Gaelic language which complicates things. I suppose it could be pronounced ''SEN-EVV'' with the 'v' 's supposed to be an d sound, pronounced as a sort of hum.

Basically, it's complicated :D

Welsh is a language on the Brythonic branch of the Celtic language. The "dd" is like the "th" in "then", simply put, but I think some IPA is in order. Senedd (ˈsɛnɛð), Neuadd (ˈnəiað), Siambr (ˈʃambr), Cwrt (ˈkʊrt), Oriel (ɔrjɛl). AledJames (talk) 19:40, 6 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] St David's Day

The article says that the Senedd was opened on St David's Day 2006. This is incorrect, because St David's Day in 2006 was either the second day of March (if you're Church in Wales) or the last day of February (if you're Roman Catholic). It cannot have fallen on the first day of March because that day was Ash Wednesday. I think this was edited away before, but it seems to have come back. Marnanel 10:57, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
