[edit] Name

Does anyone know if it is named after Sendai, Japan? -alhead

I seem to recall that Faísca mentioned in his article that the virus was named after an outbreak in Sendai, but I'm having trouble backing that up. -EarthRise33 23:49, 29 July 2007 (UTC)
Turns out that it is. Faísca said that in Sendai, 1952, an infectious agent was isolated from several newborns and grown up in mice. In 1954, another group said that the agent was actually from the mouse, i.e., SeV. -EarthRise33 12:58, 22 August 2007 (UTC)
