Sensatori is an island resort on Crete, one of the thirteen peripheries of Greece.
Sensatori is notable because it is built on top of a live volcano. Heat from the volcano is used to provide hot water and heating throughout the winter and summer months. The last recorded eruption from the volcano was 1704, and follows a 300 year cycle.
The resort is still in the construction phase and is due to be fully operational in the last quarter of 2008 in time for the skiing season.
