"Senhora do Mar (Negras Águas)" is a song performed by the Portuguese singer Vânia Fernandes. This song was chosen to represent Portugal at the Eurovision Song Contest 2008 in Belgrade, Serbia, after being voted the winner of the 2008 edition of Festival da Canção, Portugal's national selection final, receiving a total of 17.650 votes (35%), more than the double of votes than its competition (runner-up "Obrigatório Ter" by Alex Smith received 6.928 votes (14%).
The song was written by Andrej Babić who also wrote Croatia's entry in 2003, Više nisam tvoja by Claudia Beni, Bosnia & Herzegovina's in 2005, Call Me by Feminnem and Slovenia's in 2007, Cvet z juga by Alenka Gotar.
An English version of the song called "Lady Of The Sea" leaked on the Internet, a well as the song's instrumental version and an official remix by successful DJ Rui da Silva. A new version in the Portuguese and Serbian languages featuring Beauty Queens, the backing singers of Marija Šerifović in the Eurovision Song Contest 2007, also recently leaked. Vânia Fernandes and Beauty Queens also recorded new versions of "Molitva" and "Zavet", Beauty Queens's own song in Beovizija 2008, which came third in the competition.
A music video promoting the Portuguese isle of Madeira was also recently released. It features Vânia in the studio recording the song with promotional shots of the isle.
Vânia had performed the song in the second Semi-final on May 22, 2008, when she had passed to the final on May 24, finishing in 13th place.
