Sengalipuram ("Shivakalipuram" as it is known in shastras) is a village where great saints like Sengalipuram Muthanna and Sri Anantharama Deekshithar, tamil writer "Thiru" were born.
This is one of the 18 Vathima villages.
Temples : Soleswara Nistulaambikaa, Valmiki shram(Raamaa), Dathathreya, Ranganathar Swamy temple, Kumara Koil,kasi viswanthar visalakhsi.The aaradhana festival at Sri Datareya temple is very famous and is believed by many devotees that after visiting this place the couples are blessed with a child.The Ranganathar Swamy of this village is very special with six fingers in his leg.
