For nearly a century a ghost light has been spotted near Senath. The location of the ghost light is a few miles from the town, but it is commonly referred to as the "Senath Light". Many legends have been passed down about the light. Some have involved the death of a young man by hanging. A tree that hangs over the road to the light is known by locals as the hanging tree. Since the area was at one time a swamp, the light is believed to be some sort of swamp gas. The legend of the Senath Light is one of many local legends. Others include the famous Cry Baby Bridge, where people have claimed to hear a baby crying, but could see nothing but darkness.
