[edit] Spelling

Unable to locate an original spelling, I took a guess at a Cyrillic version of Belarusian, Семён Аранович Гершгорин. (Belarusian use of Latin and Cyrillic alphabets is described here.) Someone who knows better, please verify and/or correct this! --KSmrqT 10:20, 12 October 2005 (UTC)

The previous English spelling for this article was Aronovich, changed to Aranovich. Does that mean someone knows? Because Cyrillic Аронович is also common. --KSmrqT 15:24, 15 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Inconsistency with MacTutor

The biography at MacTutor states "studied at Petrograd Technological Institute from 1923, becoming Professor in 1930". The wikipedia article instead asserts full professorship as early as 1923. Which is right? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.7.246.11 (talk) 17:41, 9 January 2008 (UTC)
