From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hi Selphie, welcome to Wikipedia!

The entire content of les Lavandieres was that they were washer women who were Ankou's helpers. One sentence isn't really an article, so I combined the content of the two to make a more substantial stub.

If you have sufficient material to expand les Lavandieres to a proper article, it's easy enough to change the redirect back to a stand-alone encylopedia entry.

It's quite common to split very long articles or combine stubs, but I won't interfer if you want to restore the original article

If you need any help try

[edit] Les Lavandières

Hi there. Linking and editing some Celtic myths I notice your text for this article is remarkably similar to that at this site. Do you own the text at this site? If not what we have may be a copyright violation and as such we have to take it down to stop Wiki getting into hot water. If you do not own the text, please also tell me if you've borrowed anything else in any of your other articles, as that will have to come down too.

Don't worry about it if you don't own the text. These things happen sometimes, we just have to fix them as soon as possible. Just incase, here's the Wikipedia Copyright FAQ.

Reply to my talkpage.

We also may have copyright issues between this article and this site . Please reply to get this sorted out ASAP!

No worries. But if you don't remember writing them yourself, the coursework was a quote, I guess. So they have to come down, which I'm sorry about, but you can of course have another bash at them once the red tape's been gone through, as long as you make sure it's your own work. --Viki 20:03, 1 Sep 2004 (UTC)

[edit] definition articles

Hi - this is just a note to say that I think some of the articles you've been creating today (especially scold and discipline) aren't encyclopedia topics at all, but belong in wiktionary as definitions. After alll, what can you say about "scold" once you've defined it? Not much. By contrast, your obedience school leaves room for historical, social, perhaps even psychological information that would create a real encyclopedia article. If you ever find an article killed or moved as a "dicdef" (shorthand for just a dictionary definition), that's why - DavidWBrooks 16:39, 2 Sep 2004 (UTC)

[edit] animal testing

"Often these companies claim they don't use animal testing"

Do you have any evidence for this? Geni 16:26, 6 Sep 2004 (UTC)

I did do some searching. At most I could find some evidence that some companies were being slightly (ok rather more than slightly) disengenious but I could find nothing to directly support you claims.Geni 11:19, 7 Sep 2004 (UTC)
You are the one making the claim. I've done what I can to find some evidence for it. At the moment I don't know how relible the website was. The exact wording of the website (which is important) or how ggod your memory is. Animal testing is cortaversal so A resonable standard of support for things in the article would be helpful.Geni 12:11, 7 Sep 2004 (UTC)

You and your s.o. are quite cute. --Jeff 03:38, 17 Dec 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Agreed :-)

As a guy, I reckon she's good looking. As a Christian, I reckon that value judgement is horrible! I guess I'm torn. BTW, welcome to Wikipedia! - Ta bu shi da yu 20:18, 20 Dec 2004 (UTC)

:-) so what's your area of interest on Wikipedia? - Ta bu shi da yu 10:11, 21 Dec 2004 (UTC)
Exploding whale, Cyclone tracy, Btrieve to name but a few. I kinda like Aussie articles. I've helped with Arab-Israeli conflict but I have to admit defeat with Historicity of Jesus and Jihad. Can't win 'em all! :-) - Ta bu shi da yu 13:10, 21 Dec 2004 (UTC)
Thanks! I think that Pet skunk might beat my exploding whale one though :-) what did you think of the arguments in the Jesus one? I dunno if I was being fair or not. - Ta bu shi da yu 10:44, 22 Dec 2004 (UTC)
Heathen! :P nah, it gets a bit ridiculous, I agree. Mind you, I kinda think CheeseDreams, the one I'm arguing with, is actually an Atheist. The whole Syncretism argument is a bit silly IMO though. - Ta bu shi da yu 11:05, 22 Dec 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Re: Culture of Samoa

Hi Selphie,

I am happy for you to edit this article within reason and add in some of the links as you obviously understand wiki-editing more than I do. However I had to remove some links for example: males with regard to sarongs, as it was completely random in a page about culture, and appeared to patronise the reader. It seemed rather silly to put a link to it just because it is a noun, it would have been more understandable to put in links to "anaesthetic" or "dance" or even "bowl"! Congratulations on your engagement, btw. Isdias.

[edit] John Paul Jones

I am not familiar with the name of the British town that JP Jones breached. I am, however, familiar with the "invasion" and how utterly unsuccessful it proved. It is, though, a brilliant moment in history. MEMEMEMEME 06:23, 2005 Mar 3 (UTC)

[edit] Gmail invites

Are you aware of the isnoop.net Gmail spooler project? Thousands of generous people with Gmail invites donate most or all of their invites to the project by sending them to gmail@isnoop.net, so that anyone who wants a Gmail account can simply request an invitation code. The isnoop.net spooler can be found here. — flamingspinach | (talk) 09:52, 2005 Mar 16 (UTC)

[edit] Cliff Burton

In VH1's Behind the Music on Metallica, one of the people they interview says that they didn't know if Cliff was alive. Here are some quotes from the show:

Kirk: "And I heard everyone screaming except for Cliff."
James: "I went to, you know, pull him out, wake him up or whatever, and, it's like, you know, he's not moving."
Unknown bearded man (manager?): "I don't know if Cliff was dead at this point or not because the bus actually slipped back after they picked it up."

In all the interviews I've seen, I've never heard anyone say that they talked to Cliff after the accident. If you have sources that indicate otherwise, I'd love to see them. Otherwise, it's probably best to stick with a little ambiguity.
