[edit] Nigga

Hi. I wonder if you could explain the relevence of the link to William J. Jefferson in the nigga article? I have reverted it for the moment per WP:BLP and WP:NPA, but if there is a genuine link between the term and the congressman i'll happily reinstate. Thanks. Rockpocket 05:29, 10 December 2006 (UTC)

Its best not to edit Wikipedia when feeling angry, as comments that defame an individual may leave you open to being sued by them. While Section 230 of the United States Communications Decency Act may protect Wikipedia from being sued for defamation, it may not protect the person who posted defamation on a Wikipedia page. The Wikimedia Foundation's Board of Trustees has ruled that: "Where the user has been vandalizing articles or persistently behaving in a disruptive way, [personal information] data may be released to assist in the targeting of IP blocks, or to assist in the formulation of a complaint to relevant Internet Service Providers." (Wikimedia privacy policy in full).

This is your last warning. The next time you insert a spam link, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Persistent spammers may have their websites blacklisted as well, preventing anyone from linking to them from any site that uses the MediaWiki spam blacklist, which includes all of Wikimedia and Wikipedia. --A. Please do not add links to:

  • theycann.com/
    • List of pages with these links

Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, additions of links to Wikipedia will not alter search engine rankings.

[edit] Spam in FriendBot

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on FriendBot, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because FriendBot is blatant advertising for a company, product, group, service or person that would require a substantial rewrite in order to become an encyclopedia article.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting FriendBot, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself.
