Talk:Selena M. Salcedo
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This is neither encyclopedic nor an article on a notable person. Wikipedia is surely not the place to run a page about every person in the world charged with assault. Delete -- (unsigned comment from User:195.93.21.101 05:20, 2006 April 7)
[edit] redirect
Another wikipedian redirected this article, claiming authority under WP:BLP1E.
I disagree with this redirection. I think it was hasty to perform it, without discussion. So I've reverted it.
Graner, England, et al, did some shitty stuff. But they didn't murder anyone, let alone murder individuals they believed were innocent. This is widely regarded as a serious crime.
As for the claim of authority under BLP1E.
- Selena Salcedo played a role in the murder of Habibullah on December 2.
- Selena Salcedo played a role in the murder of Dilawar on December 10th.
- Selena Salcedo played a role in beating over a hundred other captives who didn't die.
- Selena Salcedo received a sentence so light it is still being commented on years later.
Why shouldn't we consider this four events?

- The revert was entirely reasonable within WP:BRD. But we must still adhere to WP:BLP. The sources cited mention her role only in connection with the abuse of Dilawar. Do you have a sources for the other three claims? Jfire (talk) 05:00, 8 March 2008 (UTC)
- By the way, my main interest here is in improving the main article, Bagram torture and prisoner abuse. I was hoping that by redirecting people would be encouraged to clean up and expand the coverage of the individuals in the list there --- and they sorely need it -- rather than on all the satellite articles. I feel it would be better to have one good, comprehensive article rather than a lot of mediocre ones. I also redirected Duane M. Grubb, which seemed to be a clearer BLP1E case, as he was acquitted of all charges. Do you agree with that redirect? What about Christopher M. Beiring, Glendale C. Walls, and Damien M. Corsetti?
