[edit] Move

Selam is currently redirect to Salaam (name), I think most people searching for Selam will be in reference to this early Homind.

After the move a {{for2|the word|[[Salaam (name)]]}} could be inserted at the top

not sure about the move. It is a little early, but a google search for selam comes up with quite a bit before we get to the fossil. It seems it is a common spelling of Salaam in that part of Africa (i.e. many companies and such named Selam.) I am more in favor of renaming all fossil pages to their catalog numbers, I haven't noticed one for this one yet, but it is more precise and accurate over the long run even if it does fail the google test. I have removed the proposal to move, as there is no clear consesus GameKeeper 07:19, 3 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] The name

I'm confused as to where the evidence that they are calling "Lucy's Baby" Selam. I clicked on the reference [1] given and searched the article with no mention of that word. Every other article I find mentions her as either Dikika (after the hill she was found on) or as "Lucy's Baby". Why Selam? If I don't get an answer within 24 hours, I'm going to the reference desk and possibly changing this. --Farquaadhnchmn(Dungeon) 15:36, 29 November 2006 (UTC)
