Talk:Selam, on IRC
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I believe this page should stay because there are many Arabic-speaking people who use IRC and say "slm", and most non-Arabic speaking people do not understand what it means. I believe this provides an unbiased and accurate description of "slm".

I agree with the original poster. This has become more widely used in IRC, Yahoo, and other internet chatrooms.
Read WP:NEO, this is one of the reasons why it should at least be redirected if not deleted and please sign your name with ~~~~. Tarret 20:33, 17 September 2006 (UTC)
I've declined to speedily delete the article, and have instead redirected it to List of Internet slang phrases -- if you can find a reliable source to verify this, it probably should be included there, even if it doesn't seem (I think?) to need a full article. "SLM" isn't in the list of slang phrases. I don't know if there are many reliable sources out there on this subject. Until a reliable source is found, I suppose the redirect should stay. --TerrorBite 12:43, 25 September 2006 (UTC)
