Selvaraghavan is a film director from South India. He is the son of film director Kastoori Raja. He shot to fame in his debut venture Thuluvatho Illamai, a movie about adolescent gags and teenage capers. His next movie Kadhal Kondein won both box office and critical applause. His directorial skills were appreciated by most of the TamilNadu's leading directors and other movie crtics.
Selvaraghavan, who started directing flims after doing his BE in Mechanical Engineering, relies on the internet and books for his story ideas. He loves doing horror films and admits that he likes to scare people . His favorite directors are Oliver Stone and Francis Ford Coppola and the hero he'd like to direct is Robert de Niro. He loves reading, mostly Wilbur Smith. He considers his strength lies in writing a good screenplay.
The best compliments he has received are from the Press and from Bharathiraja who said of Kaadhal Kondein that "After Nayagan, Kaadhal Kondein is the best film I've seen".
On December 15th, 2006, he married Sonia Agarwal.
