Self Service Science Forum

The ABCs "Doctor Karl's Self Service Science Forum" is one of Australia's most popular public science discussion sites.[1] It has a solid community of regulars. Due to its unique interface and popularity, the discussions frequently take place at a fast and entertaining pace, especially using the "View By Time" function.

The regulars are an amusing and diverse array of characters. Although they generally recognise their responsibility to limit discussion in the threads (other than the 'chat thread') to science related issues, the site has gained a reputation for occasionally hosting broad ranging discussions, covering topics from philosophy and religion through to controversial cricket incidences.
