Selby and Ainsty will be a constituency represented in the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom. It will elect one Member of Parliament (MP) by the first past the post system of election.
The Boundary Commission for England has recommended the creation of this seat following a review of parliamentary representation in York and North Yorkshire.

This seat will be a successor to Selby. The electoral wards used to create the extended constituency will be:
- The entire district of Selby
- The Harrogate wards of Marston Moor, Ouseburn, Ribston and Spofforth with Lower Wharfedale
Some villages in the existing Selby constituency will be moved to the new York Outer constituency.
