Selawik Lake is a lake located 7 miles (11 km) SW of Selawik, Alaska. It is long 31 miles (50 km) across. Eskimo name first reported in 1842-1844 by Lt. Lavrenty Zagoskin, IRN, who spelled it "Chilivik," and probably meant to apply to an Eskimo tribe or village. Appears to have been by one of the Sir John Franklin search expeditions about 1850.

Selawik Lake is the 3rd. largest lake in Alaska after Iliamna Lake and Becharof Lake, and 17th. largest lake in the United States of America. [1]
