Selan has collaborated extensively with Little Louie Vega and Kenny 'Dope' Gonzales of the house music production team Masters at Work. Most notably he plays the extended keyboard improvisation on the Masters at Work remix of Nina Simone's "See-Line Woman" which appears on the highly successful 2002 Verve Remixed collection. He also co-produced, co-wrote and sings lead vocal on several songs on DJ Spinna's Intergalactic Soul album, which was released in 2006 on Shanachie Records.

His 2004 single "Unconditional Love," produced by DJ Spinna, was released on the Wonderwax record label. Selan's solo single "Gravity" was released in 2005 on Louie Vega's Vega Records. He is the co-composer of the song "Focus" which appears on Concrete Rose, the multi-platinum 2004 album by American rhythm and blues singer Ashanti. He also appears as a co-writer on the songs "Marathon" and "Desire" which appear on the 2007 Grammy-nominated sophomore album Love Behind the Melody by Raheem DeVaughn.

Selan is a member of the electronic soul music group Free Radikalz (along with DJ Spinna, Delouie Avant, and James Hurt.) He has also been a member of Little Louie Vega's Elements of Life Band.

According to information on his websites, Selan launched his own record label, Selonius Records, in early 2008 and he plans on releasing a full-length album in Fall 2008 featuring contributions from Ali Shaheed Muhammad of A Tribe Called Quest fame, Warp Records artist Jimmy Edgar, DJ Spinna and Marvin Gaye collaborator Leon Ware.

The first single from his album, "In 2 the Light," features M1 of hip-hop group Dead Prez and is offered as a download from his website in the form of "free digital gift bag".
