SELEX Sistemi Integrati (SELEX SI) was formed as a result of the Eurosystems agreement between Finmeccanica and BAE Systems on May 3, 2005.
One of the main provisions of this agreement was the dissolution of Alenia Marconi Systems (AMS), a joint Finmeccanica/BAE joint venture. The Italian side of the business (Alenia Marconi Systems S.p.A.) became a wholly owned subsidiary of Finmeccanica and was renamed SELEX Sistemi Integrati. Several other businesses were included in this deal:
- Former AMS UK Air Traffic Control and Management division — became SELEX Sistemi Integrati Ltd.
- Former AMS Gematronik division — became SELEX Sistemi Integrati GmbH
- Former AMS-ASI Inc. division — became SELEX Sistemi Integrati Inc.
