SELEX Galileo

SELEX Sensors and Airborne Systems S.p.A. (SELEX S&AS) is a major defence electronics company owned by Finmeccanica. SELEX S&AS was created by the merger of the avionics businesses of Finmeccanica and part of BAE Systems:
- Galileo Avionica — became a subsidiary of SELEX Sensors and Airborne Systems S.p.A.
- BAE Systems Avionics — renamed SELEX Sensors and Airborne Systems Limited, became a subsidiary of SELEX Sensors and Airborne Systems S.p.A.
BAE Systems held a 25% share from the company's foundation until March 2007.
As part of a continued strategy to more closely integrate the two constituent businesses the company has, as of 1 January 2008 been branded Selex Galileo.

SELEX S&AS was formed under the terms of the "Eurosystems transaction". This agreement also saw the formation of:
- SELEX Communications — The former Selenia Communications and the UK military and secure communications division of BAE.
- SELEX Sistemi Integrati — The Italian business of Alenia Marconi Systems (Alenia Marconi Systems S.p.A.) and various other businesses:
- Former AMS UK Air Traffic Control and Management division.
- Former AMS Gematronik division.
- Former AMS-ASI Inc. division.
