[edit] Image:PlayboyCenterfoldStephanieAdams.jpg and other images
On this image, you seem to claim that you are the creator of this image. Does that mean that you are Stephanie Adams, or someone working for her? If so, then you would certainly have the right to release the image under GFDL - but that's not the same thing as "Promotionally used by Playboy, select media and other web sites with permission." - if you are releasing it under GFDL, that means that anyone can use it, not just select media, and they don't need any further permission. If you are SA or GODDESSY, then you'll need to confirm it, probably by sending an email from an address @goddessy.com.
Once you clarify that, it may make the question of the image on the Stephanie Adams article easier. If you have released the image under GFDL, then we will certainly use it on that article. If you haven't, and you are someone at GODDESSY, then I strongly recommend that you take an image that you can release under GFDL; otherwise any fair use images on that article will always be under debate, and quite possibly deleted until a GFDL licensed image is found. - Actually, 'we can't argue Fair use if we're in contact with the subject', since that voids the "no possible free quivalent can be obtained" clause, since she can just take a new picture today with any simple camera and release it. Therefore: If she is either Stephani Adams or close to her, they MUST take a new picture which can be freely licensed. -- Drini 19:28, 10 December 2006 (UTC)
Who does GODDESSY have to send an e-mail to and what is the e-mail address? The subject owns GODDESSY, but GODDESSY owns the copyright, so a representative would be the one to send an e-mail, not the subject. -SEKHMET7
- The details are in Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. Basically, either GODDESSY can put a notice on their web site, that this image is under the GFDL -- that might be easiest, won't require mailing or work from anybody else. Or someone from GODDESSY can email "permissions-en AT wikimedia DOT org", saying the same thing. If you choose the latter, you may save a bit of time by also sending a copy of the email to Dismas or myself or some other admin interested in the issue. If you don't, it should still work eventually, but I don't know how long it will take the m:OTRS people to tag the image. AnonEMouse (squeak) 13:55, 11 December 2006 (UTC)

- By the way, I'm not sure you'll be able to GFDL the image with the Playboy rabbit's head on it, since that's their trademark. I imagine you have a version without the rabbit's head, since it's used as the cover of a book. That would probably be better. Or, of course, you can use a different image; it doesn't even have to be a glamour photography photo, a normal face photo will do fine. Almost any free-licensed picture will be acceptable, and better than none. AnonEMouse (squeak) 14:01, 11 December 2006 (UTC)
I sent an e-mail to GODDESSY and they said they would send an e-mail to the e-mail address you suggested. Thank you for your help. One last question. Can I add a totally different image and label it "Image:StephanieAdams.jpg"? It seems to be protected now, but I have another image of the subject to add besides the other one. -SEKHMET7
- You would probably want to use a different file name that explains the differences. Possibilities include adding the date of the image (Stephanie_Adams_April_01_2006), the setting of the image (StephanieAdamsOnTriceratops), the context of the image (StephanieAdamsReceivingKeyToCityOfNewYork), or others. However, note that unless this a free license image, you are going to have the same problems as before, so unless it's a really exceptional image I wouldn't recommend it. Stephanie Adams is a fairly short article, and doesn't necessarily call for too many images. AnonEMouse (squeak) 19:38, 11 December 2006 (UTC)
