Sekolah Menengah Awang Semaun

Sekolah Menengah Awang Semaun is a government secondary school in Brunei Darussalam. The school campus is located alongside the nation's largest water village known locally as Kampong Ayer, close to the capital, Bandar Seri Begawan. Kampong Ayer (or Kampung Air) is situated on the Brunei River.
Sekolah Menengah Awang Semaun - aka SMAS, was built in 1983 and serves the local community's youth, both boys and girls. The national curriculum is taught to students entering Year 8 through to Year 12. National examinations plus Cambridge external examinations are available to students. A range of technical and business courses are also offered as well as computing and ICT programmes.
The staff include a wide range of local and expatriate teachers. The medium of instruction for most subjects is English. The school boasts a wide range of quality facilities including a multi purpose hall, well stocked library, full size football field and running tracks with a large covered grandstand for spectators.
At the end of each school day the school campus doubles as a venue for religious classes administered also by the government.
