Sekolah Agama Menengah Tinggi Tengku Ampuan Rahimah (SAMTTAR)

Sekolah Agama Menengah Tinggi Tengku Ampuan Rahimah (SAMTTAR) was established in January 1943. Its original site was a donated (wakaf) land next to the current Masjid Kampung Sungai Manggis. The original building is still present up to this day.
The school was build by Allahyarham Tuan Haji Ibrahim b Mohd Akim (Village Head of Kampung Sungai Manggis). In 1945, the administration of the school was taken over by the Selangor State government and under the management of Selangor Islamic Council (Majlis Agama Islam Selangor). In 1959, part of the school was demolished in order to make way for the expansion of Masjid Kampung Sungai Manggis. A new building was then build opposite to the mosque. On the 4th of January 1960, the school was upgraded to become Special Religious Secondary School (Sekolah Agama Menengah Khas). On the 3rd of January 1976, a new concrete building was erected and now it was named Lower Secondary Arabic School of Sungai Manggis (Sekolah Arab Menengah Rendah Sungai Manggis). On the 2nd of January 1976, again the school's name was changed to Lower Secondary Religious School of Sungai Manggis (Sekolah Agama Menengah Rendah Sungai Manggis). In 1985 the Selangor State allocated RM1.8 juta to add new buildings to the school. On the 3rd of January 1985, the project was completed and again it was renamed Lower Secondary Religious School of Sungai Manggis (with hostel)(Sekolah Agama Menengah Sungai Manggis (Berasrama). On the 1st of December 1988, a quick relieve project comprising of the erection of 5 classrooms was carried out wholly funded by the Selangor State government.
In 1989, the school was renamed Religious High School of Sungai Manggis (Sekolah Agama Menengah Tinggi Sungai Manggis) which offered education for Form 1 to Upper Form 6. On the 14th of May 1991 a new block of 5 classrooms were built with the cooperation of the school and the PTA (Parent Teacher Assoc.). This project qot a helping hand from the Malaysian Army (Projek Askar Turun ke Desa).
The 15th of August 1992, marked a significant historical event when the school was finally renamed Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Religious High School (Sekolah Agama Menengah Tinggi Tengku Ampuan Rahimah) taking the name of the late Sultan of Selangor's Queen. The official ceremony was done on the 15th of August 1992 by the late DYMM Sultan Salahuddin Abd. Aziz Shah, Sultan of Selangor. As at 2007, the school is already 64 years old.

(Semasa ditubuhkan pada tahun 1980-an, sekolah ini dikenali sebagai Sekolah Agama Menengah Rendah Sungai Manggis. Guru Besarnya yang pertama ialah Ustaz Amir Nasihon. Beliau banyak berusaha memajukan sekolah ini dengan niat yang tulus ikhlas demi memajukan anak-anak melayu mendalami ilmu agama dan akademik. Antara guru yang awal di sekolah ini ialah: Cikgu Buang Bin Sarpon, Cikgu Ramadzhan, Ustaz Ismail Sarbini, Ustazah Suriani, Ustazah Zainah, Ustazah Juliah dan Cikgu Suliman.
Pakaian pelajar sekolah ini sewaktu 1980-an dahulu ialah Baju Putih berseluar Hitam, manakala 1983 ditukar kepada baju Warna Hijau dan seluar Hitam. Pakaian ini membezakan para pelajar sekolah agama dengan para pelajar aliran biasa.
Pada tahun 1983 sekumpulan pelajar sekolah ini menjadi antara kumpulan pertama belajar ke peringkat menengah tinggi di sekolah baru iaitu Sekolah Agama Menengah Tinggi Tengku Ampuan Jemaah Seksyen 11 Shah Alam.
Sekarang sekolah ini mengalami perubahan yang ketara hasil daripada usaha dan doa guru-guru. Pengetua SAMTTAR kini ialah Tuan Haji Mohd Zaki Bin Rajikin yang amat prihatin akan perkembangan pelajaran murid-murid. Keputusan PMR tahun 2006 menunjukkan kenaikan yang amat membanggakan iaitu seramai 13 orang mendapat 9A. Pada tahun 2007, SAMTTAR telah menjadi anggota sekolah kementerian iaitu menjadi Sekolah Agama Bantuan Kerajaan (SABK).)
