Seixal (Porto Moniz)

Seixal is a parish in the district of Porto Moniz in the Madeira Islands. The population in 2001 is 716, its density is 24.3/km² and the area is 29.5 km². Seixal is the largest parish in area, the second largest in population, the second smallest in area, the second least in density and the second lowest in Porto Moniz. It is located E of Porto Moniz. The main industry is agriculture. It is connected with a road linking Porto Moniz and Santana especially the eastern part of the island. The Atlantic Ocean is to the north. The mountains are to the south. The municipality and the parish of São Vicente is to the east, the municipalities of Ponta do Sol and Calheta is bounded to the east.
