Seit Devdariani

Seit Devdariani (Georgian: სეით დევდარიანი) (1879 - October 21, 1937) was a Georgian Menshevik politician who was executed during Stalin’s Great Purge.

Devdariani graduated from the Tbilisi Orthodox Spiritual Seminary (1898). He was involved in Social Democratic movement since the early 1900s. During the Russian Revolution of 1917, he was a leading Menshevik in Kharkiv. In 1917-1919 he was a member of the Georgian National Council, in 1919-1921 a member of the Parliament of the Democratic Republic of Georgia. After the fall of the Georgian republic, Devdariani became involved in anti-Soviet opposition. In 1921-1924 he was a Chairman of the underground Central Committee of the Georgian Menshevik Party. During the 1930s purges, he was arrested and executed.
