Segismondo Gondola

Šiško Gundulić (Italian: Sigismondo Gondola; c.1634– January 16, 1682) son of famous poet Ivan Gundulić (Giovanni Gondola) and Nicoletta de Sorgo, and brother of the Austrian marshall sig.Francesco Gondola. He was also a Rector of the Republic of Ragusa.

Following the footsteps of his father, he also composed diverse poetry, poetry of both father and son was distinguished by the same similar elegance, some of their works were translated in the L´Epithalame de Catulle, other great compostions in 1662 Sunčanica. His first wife is unknown but he remarried with Catterina de Nale (Katarina Nalješković) and had four children Francesco Gondola II k.k General der Cav., Giovanni di Sigismondo Gondola (Ivan Šiškov)(c.1678 c.1721), Hieronymus Gondola and Segismondo Frano Gondola II (*1682 + 1758) was one of the founders the first Austrian Lodge Zu den drei in Vienna 17 September 1742, in 7 March 1743 became Master of the Lodge Zu den drei Kanonen of Freemasonry. Segismondo married with Pier An. de Cerva and had the ultime Gondola line male, Segismondo Domenico de Gondola, the daughter Catterina de Gondola married with Matteo de Ghetaldi, continued with the surname Ghetaldi-Gondola, by adoption for the son of Catterina "Francesco Ghetaldi-Gondola".
He was also known by his bad habits, his public addiction to alcohol and his public scandals in the city of Dubrovnik. Sigismondo died in the Sponza palace (Rector's Palace) in 1682.
