Talk:Secret Squirrel (disambiguation)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I don't know about in Europe (IP 81.152.72.212-last editor), but here in the United States it is not uncommon to hear SQL Server genially referred to as Secret Squirrel. This SQL Server/secret squirrel reference shouldn't be construed as the most common nick name - it is not, but is a relatively common nick name none the less. The disambiguation page exists to help a reader find the appropriate wiki entry for shared/common names. I can't say I know the full etymology of this reference, but as the editor who removed the reference indicated, the "Squirrel" piece seems to be derived from SQL. In any case the reference is neither derogatory nor a pejorative for the RDBMS from Redmond or Sybase. Therefore it SHOULD be included. Dba expert 21:58, 11 January 2007 (UTC)

Also, in Australia at least, (doing the/pulling a) Secret Squirrel refers to swiping someone's Cannabis crop, esp. one hidden in public bushland. Zobier 03:04, 23 July 2007 (UTC)
