Security Industry Registry

The Security Industry Registry is a corporate service provided by the New South Wales Police Force and is responsible for the administration of Security Industry Act 1997 and Security Industry Regulation 2007 by delegation from the Commissioner of Police.

The Security Industry Registry (SIR), is responsible for the licencing of security officers and all staff in the security industry. It also receives complaints about security officers and monitors the performance of security companies. The SIR has introduced a Public Register of Licences providing details of the current status of security, and commercial and private inquiry agents' licences.
