Secretary of Public Education

In Mexico, the Secretary of Public Education is the head of the Secretariat of Public Education (in Spanish: Secretaría de Educación Pública; abbreviated SEP), the federal government department with responsibility for the nation's public schools and education policy in general. The secretary is a member of the federal executive cabinet and is chosen discretionally by the President of the Republic.
The current Secretary of Education is Josefina Vázquez Mota.
