Secret sauce

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Secret Sauce is an informal term used to refer to an organisation’s intellectual property or other competitive advantage.

The term is frequently used with reference to technology start-up companies. Venture capital firms often ask companies to explain their “secret sauce” as part of the process of assessing new investment opportunities [1].

A company’s intellectual property can also be used to generate additional revenue by licensing the intellectual property for use by other companies [2]
