About me in real life
My name is Daniel Šebesta. I was born in 1987. I live in Prague.
I'm most interested in Czech and German studies, which is also what I study at Charles University in Prague.
I've been a lexicographer for a few years now. I'm the co-author of the following books:
- Německo-český a česko-německý studijní slovník (German-Czech and Czech-German Learner's Dictionary, 5th ed., 2004, ISBN 80-7182-178-0),
- Česko-německý a německo-český kapesní slovník (Czech-German and German-Czech Pocket Dictionary, 3rd ed., 2004, ISBN 80-7182-173-X),
- Němčina pro au pair (German for Au Pair, 1st ed., 2005, ISBN 80-7182-198-5),
- Německo-český a česko-německý studijní slovník (German-Czech and Czech-German Learner's Dictionary, 6th ed., 2006, ISBN 80-7182-204-3).
I work as a freelance German-to-Czech, English-to-Czech, and Slovak-to-Czech translator and proofreader specializing in technical and marketing texts. I'm a member of the American Translators Association, the Czech Union of Interpreters and Translators, and ProZ.com.
