Marc Sebastian Pelzer (born September 24, 1980 in Trier) is a German footballer who plays as a left-back for Dynamo Dresden. He began his career with FSV Salmrohr, before joining 1. FC Kaiserslautern as a 19 year-old. After two years in their reserve side, he moved to England, signing for Blackburn Rovers. Again, he was only a reserve player, making only one appearance, in the Football League Cup against Walsall. He returned to Germany after eighteen months at Ewood Park, joining his hometown club, Eintracht Trier. He played here for a season and a half, leaving in 2005 after the club's relegation from the 2. Bundesliga. He made the short journey to 1. FC Saarbrücken, where he played for one season, but was to suffer relegation again, and left the club. After three months without a club, he signed for Dynamo Dresden in October 2006, where he became a fans' favourite, and served as captain during the second half of the 2006-07 season. He left the club in the summer of 2007, with the intention of returning to England, but, after trials with Hull City and Plymouth Argyle, he did not earn a contract, and eventually returned to Dynamo Dresden, after the club had agreed a shirt sponsorship deal, and could afford to sign him.
