Sebastian Edathy

Sebastian Edathy (born September 5, 1969) is a German politician.

Edathy was born in Hanover, the son of an immigrant from Kerala, India,[1] and is a trained sociologist. He has been an SPD member of the German parliament (Bundestag) since 1998. He was a member of former German chancellor Gerhard Schröder's red-green coalition, and is now a member of chancellor Angela Merkel's grand coalition. Today, he is the chairman of the German-Indian group of members of parliament.
