Diego Sebastián Viera Galaín (born July 3, 1983 in Florida, Uruguay) is a Uruguayan-born professional football (soccer) player who plays for La Liga club Villarreal CF. Viera was expected to move to English Premiership club Arsenal FC in August 2005, but Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger withdrew from the deal when Sebastián Viera did not pass the medical exam.
Viera's father, Mario Viera is a football goalkeeper, too.
Viera also holds an Italian passport.
After a string of fine performances by new transfer Diego Lopez in Spanish Cup matches, as well as big matches vs. Real Madrid and Valencia in La Liga, Diego has been awarded first-team action to the detriment of Sebastian Viera. By March 2008, Diego seemed to have established himself as the first-choice goalkeeper for Villareal. He's been linked to a possible move to Turkish giants Galatasaray according to Espn news.
