Diego Sebástian Saja (born on June 5, 1979 in La Plata, Buenos Aires) is an Argentine football player currently playing as a goalkeeper for AEK Athens F.C. in the Greek Super League. He has an Italian passport.

[edit] San Lorenzo
Sebastian Saja had 144 caps for San Lorenzo, he started his career in 2000 until 20004, he was voted the best Goalkeeper in south America in 2002 whilst he was playing at San Lorenzo. He won the Clausura of 2001, Copa Mercosur and Copa Sudamericana with San Lorenzo. After playing on loan in teams of Italy, Mexico and Spain he returned to Argentina and San Lorenzo in 2005. In early 2007 he fell out with new manager Ramon Diaz and went on loan to Gremio.

Sebastian Saja went on loan to Italian side Bresia for six months in 2004 and managed to have 4 caps in half a year.
His next destination was Rayo Vallecano in Spain where he played 20 times during his six months with the club, he then went on loan to Córdoba between 2004 and 2005 where he played 23 times.
After a spell in Mexico with América Saja returned to San Lorenzo making 34 appearances and scoring 5 goals, but he was again sent out on loan, this time to Grêmio, in his one season in Brazil he played 59 times scoring 1 goal.

Sebastian Saja agreed to come to AEK and will officially sign on the 1st of July. Saja will sign a contract with AEK for three years earning 400.000 Euros. Saja said to the Media that this is a massive opportunity to play in Europe and play for AEK, Saja also said to the media that he also signed because AEK have an amazing striker Ismael Blanco and Rodolfo Arruabarrena who had a great career at Boca Juniors and also that AEK have world legend Rivaldo.

Sebastian Saja was voted the best Goalkeeper in South America in 2002. He has had 10 caps for Argentina, he made his debut against Uruguay on the 15th March 2002. Saja also has another cap in a friendly against Wales in 2002. Later that year he also played in another three friendly games against Mexico, Honduras and United States.
