[edit] Notability of Eve Torres

A tag has been placed on Eve Torres requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Oysterguitarist 04:49, 24 October 2007 (UTC)

The page is notable because she is a Diva Search contestant working for WWE(World Wrestling Entertainment) at this time so i think that would make it notable.

ok since at the moment everyone seems to be determined 4 there not 2 be a Eve Torres page, my question is if Eve wins the WWE Diva Search on October 29th will that finally make her notable enough for someone to add a page about her.

Please do not add nonsense to Wikipedia, as you did to the World Wrestling Entertainment roster page. It is considered vandalism. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. Thank you. Sandahl 05:04, 29 October 2007 (UTC)

Misplaced the warning sorry.--Sandahl 05:12, 29 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Hello

Re:How do i add pictures??. This link will help with that Wikipedia:Picture tutorial. Images should go on the right at the top of the page above the text. If there's more than one in the article that can vary. Here is a link that shows image copyright tags so that you can find the right one. Happy editing.--Sandahl 07:20, 30 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Lee Donoghue

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Lee Donoghue, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://imdb.com/name/nm1047838. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 20:41, 20 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Problems with your articles

Hello, SeanMorleyRoxs ... the main problem with the biographical articles you are creating is that they do not contain any references to reliable source publications about the subjects ... IMDb listings and blogs do not meet the criteria ... see this example of a stub that demonstrates correctly asserting and citing notability, e.g., your articles lack such basic information as Date of birth and Place of birth (hence the Category tags) ... [edit] What they mean by Notability

Hey Sean thanks for contributing to Wikipedia. I enjoyed some of the articles you contributed to. If you want your articles to remain on Wikipedia without being deleted all the time you need to explain in the article why your article is important. That is what is meant by Notability. So for instance, if you are writing an article about a character from Home and Away, before you start writing about the character, you should write a paragraph saying that this character is on the show Home And Away and that Home and Away is a very important television show because it has been running for a very long time and has been very popular on Australian TV. You need to write as if you are trying to convince people from Russia how important this character is in Australia. Hope this helps. Leave a msg on my talk page if you have a question Ryan Albrey (talk) 10:28, 6 December 2007 (UTC)

Unfortunately, Ryan's statement above isn't correct as notability is not inherited: the fact that a character is in Home and Away (which is notable) does not mean that all characters in Home and Away are notable. For any subject to be notable, it must itself be the subject of third-party commentary. Cheers --Pak21 (talk) 10:34, 6 December 2007 (UTC)
I am not trying to suggest that notability is inherited. I am merely trying to explain to SeanMorleyRoxs how he or she can give his or her articles a better chance of survival in this cutthroat world of deletionists ready to discard anything that doesn't fit their personal view of what belongs in an Encyclopedia. That is after all the reason why all these articles are being deleted right? Because the case for notability has not been sufficiently made? Perhaps I should add to my prior message that not only must SeanMorleyRoxs explain that Home and Away is a notable TV show but also that a particular character, for example Morag Bellingham, is a notable character that exists within a notable work of fiction. Ryan Albrey (talk) 16:49, 6 December 2007 (UTC)
Also, please see Wikipedia:Notability (fiction) for the notability guidelines that pertain to the articles under discussion, and consider joining WikiProject Soap Operas for help in finding resources ... Happy Editing! —72.75.89.38 (talk · contribs) 11:21, 6 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Kimberley Crossman edits

Great work you've been doing to the Kimberley Crossman article. However instead of saving every small change you make, you may consider using one of the sandboxes that are available before you commit your edits to the main page.

Cheers and Happy editing.

[edit] Consider joining WP:PW

You have recently created a few professional wrestling related articles, however, according to the guidlines we have at WP:PW, the articles you are creating are not notable enough to be on Wikipedia. Would you consider joining WP:PW project? Cheers, Davnel03 20:01, 21 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] {{hangon}}

Hi, I just want to notifice to you that hangon is only used for speedy deletion not for article for deletion. If you want to contest the nomination, you should participate in the discussion opened on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Anastacia Rose. Cheers. [edit] Burying Brian

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Burying Brian, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of Burying Brian. Kannie | talk 23:07, 24 December 2007 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Burying Brian, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

This is an article about a TV series still in production (WP:CRYSTAL), with insufficient WP:RS coverage to establish WP:FICTION notability ... a seconded WP:PROD was removed by the author without comment.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. 72.75.72.63 (talk) 01:31, 25 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] friendly advice

You've been devoting a great deal of effort to writing articles for Wikipedia, and I'd like to suggest how you might do it more effectively; surely you want what to write to stay here, and provide readers the information about things that are important to you and to them. Perhaps It might be most useful if you tried to write a very few really substantial articles, with really good documentation. There is no point in writing articles about people that clearly do not meet the guidelines. Basically what is needed for a performer is some substantial independent reviews in reliable 3rd party sources--not blogs, not IMdB. You can use IMdB for the basic facts of a career, but not as evidence of importance. There is no point in writing articles without the necessary documentation at hand--if you can not find material that meats the conventional Wikipedia practices of reliable sources, there's no way the article will be accepted. In practice, it's good to make the sources that support notability evident from the very first version--there are many people here who will try to delete any incomplete article, and often succeed in doing so--there is no way to cope with this except to work around them and make sure it will hold up from the beginning. Holdup, that is, according to our conventions--you may find them limiting--you may find our standards for inclusion too restrictive--but at this point there's really nothing to do but to follow them. Later on, you may want to see if others agree with you about changing them. What it takes to be a good writer here or anywhere is patience. What it takes to getting the material published, is following whatever are the conventions where you want to publish it. I find--thousands of people here have found--that it's worth the trouble. 04:11, 31 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Removing comments

Hello, SeanMorleyRoxs ... Please see Removal of comments, warnings, and note that deleting warnings from your user talk page does not make them go away ... older versions, like this one, will always be available for anyone to see, so you cannot hide all of those articles you created that have subsequently been deleted for lack of Notability. —72.75.72.63 (talk · contribs) 05:29, 2 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Speedy deletion of Aden Jefferies(Character)

A tag has been placed on Aden Jefferies(Character), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where an article has substantially identical content to that of an article deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Printer222 (talk) 12:14, 13 April 2008 (UTC)
