This is a documentation subpage for Template:Seanad member list start (see that page for the template itself).
It contains usage information, categories and other content that is not part of the original template page.

This template creates the header for a sortable table entry of members of of Seanad Éireann.

It is for use in the articles Members of the 23rd Seanad, Members of the 22nd Seanad, Members of the 21st Seanad etc.

The tables are sortable, so the markup can get a bit complicated. This template (used in conjunction with {{Seanad member entry}}) simplifies the task.
