I don't see how Sean mentioning Hell's Kitchen counts as "breaking the fourth wall". Characters on the show often mention "real" TV shows, films, showbiz personalities, etc. Just because a former Corrie actor (Amanda Barrie) was once on Hell's Kitchen does not qualify this as "breaking the fourth wall", which refers to a character directly addressing the audience..... 62.232.55.188 07:24, 1 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] 'Recently' and 'latest'

These phrases should be avoided as 'recent' events soon become not so 'recent' BenC533 22:53, 4 July 2007 (UTC)

Moreover, there is a general rule when writing literary criticism that says that, although events may have happened in the past, one should write one’s discussion about them in the present. For example, one would re-write the line,
Sean was involved in a storyline with Violet Wilson and Jamie Baldwin, in which Violet became convinced that Jamie was in love with Sean, only to find that Jamie was actually in love with his step-mum, Frankie Baldwin.
so that it instead reads:
Sean was involved in a storyline with Violet Wilson and Jamie Baldwin, in which Violet becomes convinced that Jamie is in love with Sean, only to find that Jamie is actually in love with his step-mum, Frankie Baldwin.

I reverted an edit made by a Wikipedian who has been systemmatically going through Coronation Street characters removing friends and family. This person neither provides a reason in the edit summary nor provides any discussion on the relevant talk pages.
