[edit] Age

I Changed Sean Taylor's Age back to April 1st 1983 Because it is listed like that on his NFL.com Player Page. Taylor21 08:46, 23 May 2007 (UTC)

I changed his Wonderlic to 10, because that's what it says on the reference link in the article. PS an empty beer bottle scores a 12 on that test. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.191.88.153 (talk) 04:45, 8 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] protection

I don't agree with protecting this given the rapid change of events. I am hearing new info on WTEM and cannot add it because of this. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 165.230.196.24 (talk) 17:19, 26 November 2007 (UTC)

There are things on this site that the media has not yet put out. Such as Sean Taylor has come out of surgery and his family is being allowed to see him. No where is that said. All that is said is that he is critical condition. - Jennifer Rice —Preceding unsigned comment added by 204.126.132.34 (talk) 20:12, 26 November 2007 (UTC)

Protection is probably best. Too much chance for vandalism or unfounded claims.►Chris NelsonHolla! 17:22, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
  • The amount of vandalism is astounding, I can't even keep up. This article is why the vandalism policy was set up.--Fresh (talk) 18:21, 26 November 2007 (UTC)

I know that Sean taylor was not shot because of an atempted robbery. A miscellaneous person broke into his house, left a knife of he bed, rifled through his drawers, and apparently shot him in the lower abdomen. His wife called 911 and was sent straight to the hospital. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.114.38.191 (talk) 01:20, 27 November 2007 (UTC)

The knife on the bed incedent was not at the same time as the shooting. The knife on the bed was during a previous break in, however police havent released whether or not there is any coorelation between these two events. Alos where are the reports coming from that hes opened his eyes and ismaking facial expressions? I havent heard that anywhere or seen it on any websites. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.237.55.17 (talk) 02:20, 27 November 2007 (UTC)

Protection is a must, there are a lot of people out there making false and out-of-line statements due to Sean's checkered past. Anyone with ill wishes for this young athlete should be ashamed of their self. I heard on Fox Sports Radio at approx. 9:30PM ET that Sean squeezed a physician's hand upon request. -Scott F. Pollard

Seems like the section on the shooting is getting awfully wordy, perhaps it should be culled. OngoingCivilUnrest (talk) 05:30, 27 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Death

Need to await further confirmation for the death before it is added. These early reports are notoriously inaccurate. Baegis (talk) 11:12, 27 November 2007 (UTC)

Alright...Fox Sports, CNN, Washington Post, ESPN have all confirmed the death. Still need to keep a weather eye on the article for the incoming vandals. Baegis (talk) 11:18, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
We still need to keep an eye on the date. On the news this morning I had heard he passed last night (11/26/07), but everything I'm reading now says today (11/27/07). iammike (talk) 14:32, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
Hats of to the people that tried to report this early, despite a lot of resistance.
Phew, I was wikiworried
I was worried that my fellow Wikipedians might not have changed all the verbs to past tense
and added the date of death to this article by the time I went to check it. Luckily my
wikifears have been wikiaverted. Thanks Wikipedia superstars for jumping on Wikipedia as
soon as possible after hearing the news of Sean Taylor's death. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.8.46.176 (talk) 14:34, 27 November 2007 (UTC)

I think its ridiculous that the thieves are reffered to as "professional thieves" in this article. Their ages are 17, 18, 19, and 20 I hardly believe they are thieves of any kind. What they are is murderers, and at the time of the invasion were delinquent and criminal teenagers and young adults. At best they were petty thieves and a bunch of cowards who betrayed a great young man's trust in an attempt to make a few bucks. RIP Sean. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.40.133.194 (talk) 15:13, 5 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] On cnn,

they have been saying 03:30 [midnight:30, Pacific]. Is the girlfriend completely anonymous? If someone had cut the telephone, that would reduce safety. On cnn, it has been mentioned that it could relate to some of his other incidents.Thank You, [[ hopiakuta Please do sign your signature on your message. ~~ Thank You. -]] 16:00, 27 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Murder

Taylor was shot which caused his death. Have the Miami police announced this as a murder case yet? It should be. Any idea when they'll make a statement? --HPJoker (talk) 02:01, 28 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Picture title

Bust a nigga up? Someone change this. --Nathand89 (talk) 02:06, 28 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] put his gf and daughter Jackie(b May 06) back in personal section

I dont know who took it out but put it back.
I think his gf's name is Jacqueline and I knw or sure that his 18 mo old daughter is named Jackie(b May 06). They are his survivors, not just his parents. 70.108.126.66 (talk) 08:49, 28 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Y did User:Zimbabweed move personal life in2 early life ?

Hey Zimbabweed ,
Y did u move\combine it? That section is called 'early life' and that info isnt early life.
If anything maybe put his high school stuff in that section....& his daughter Jackie still isnt mentioned !
. . .70.108.126.66 (talk) 10:20, 28 November 2007 (UTC)

Sorry, I hadn't noticed that the mention of his daughter was removed (not by me, though). I moved the "Personal" section because it only included 2 sentences about his early life growing up. Also, no mention and source was ever mentioned of his birthplace of Miami, so I felt that an "Early life" section was warranted. If you can find me a reputable news source that mentions his daughter and/or other family members, I will put them in the article. --Zimbabweed (talk) 10:26, 28 November 2007 (UTC)

If I can find, LOL. His gf\daughter r ALWAY MENTIONED (st least there r in in the news reports I've seen) . Google Jackie Garcia Sean Tayor and choose which source u want : Sean Taylor's gf & 18mo old daughter Jackie.

Also, y not call the section Bio ? Also I think his high school career should be moved into the 1st section (the bio or early life section). I think it would fit there. High school is early life.
. . .70.108.126.66 (talk) 19:10, 28 November 2007 (UTC)

F 0 Nov 7:Now Jackie's Uncle Any has made a satement on behalf of the Garica fam. So some i add it. Plus there r pics of Jackie Garcia in the news. She was a soccer player.<br. . . .70.108.126.66 18:36, 30 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Doctors were optimistic

Sean am dead :( —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.142.43.202 (talk) 20:46, 28 November 2007 (UTC)

I heard on the news that he had gotten out of bed with a machete. Not sure if its true or not though. Also the doctors were optimistic during surgery or after wards because when they ask him to squeeze the nurse's hand he squeezed her hand. Mstare88 (talk) 13:11, 28 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Time of death

Everywhere that i have read and from watching them talk about on NFL network and espn said that his time of death was at 5:30AM.Mstare88 (talk) 13:13, 28 November 2007 (UTC)

Have you read any of the references? They all state that his TOD was 3:30, The phone call to the family friend was 5:30. --Zimbabweed (talk) 13:40, 28 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Interceptions

"At the time of Taylor's death on November 27, 2007, he was tied for the most interceptions in the National Football Conference with 5."

Not true. He's tied for second in the league with 5:

http://www.nfl.com/stats/categorystats?tabSeq=0&statisticCategory=INTERCEPTIONS&conference=null&season=2007&seasonType=REG

76.111.114.24 (talk) 21:52, 28 November 2007 (UTC)

  • Actually, it is true. National Football Conference is the NFC, and he is tied for first with 5. The two players with six play in the American Football Conference (AFC).--Fresh (talk) 21:55, 28 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Phone Lines

could someone update to reflect that the phone lines were not cut? Taylor's lawyer clarified this today: http://www.miamiherald.com/606/story/322222.html —Preceding unsigned comment added by 141.156.198.154 (talk) 02:08, 28 November 2007 (UTC)

  • Already done.--Fresh (talk) 05:18, 29 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] High School

I'm fairly new to wikipedia, but I noticed that for Sean Taylor's high school statistics they have been exaggerated.

This link, http://www.answers.com/topic/taylor-sean shows that Taylor had 2 playoff games where he had over 200 yards, not 400 like wikipedia states, also it says he made over 100 tackles, not 200, and finally in the state title game he scored 3 touchdowns, not 4...

I do not know how to make these changes to the page but hopefully someone will read this and correct it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Msucomet (talk • contribs) 05:45, 29 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] NFL/Redskins

I notice that someone took the ridiculous liberty of deleting about four or five paragraphs that summarized his NFL career. That should be placed back in the article. MiamiDolphins3 04:35, 2 December 2007 (UTC)

If someone can find those paragraphs please put them back in. 72.83.232.188 21:31, 2 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] "21" sticker

Some NFL players and teams have decided not to wear the Sticker on the back of their helmets honoring Sean Taylor. Most notably are SOME players of the NY Giants, which are in the same NFC east division as the Redskins(12/9/07 game vs Philadelphia Eagles). And the entire NE Patriots team who wore a sticker with the number 91 on it instead (12/9/07 game vs the Steelers). If someone has Tivo and can confirm this, please add these facts to the article page. 68.48.57.75 (talk) 03:02, 10 December 2007 (UTC)

Haha, uhhh the 91 is for Marquise Hill.►Chris NelsonHolla! 03:58, 10 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Favre's Interception Record

I think we should find somewhere to fit in the record 278th interception of Brett Favre's career. Sean Taylor was on the receiving end. It is good trivia, at least. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.136.215.85 (talk) 20:31, 5 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] First game after death

I deleted the part about the Redskins losing because of Joe Gibb's getting a penalty for delay of game. While it is factually correct that Gibbs did get a penalty that has nothing whatsoever to do with Sean Taylor and does not belong in this article —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.44.75.236 (talk) 23:36, 23 April 2008 (UTC)
